Who I am
I am a fourth year Occupational Therapy student, who will be finalising my studies at the end of 2024. Working with children was always a passion of mine, even before commencing my OT studies. I have previously worked as a special needs assistant in a primary school, and later transitioned to a different paediatric OT clinic, before commencing at Spectrum Therapy in 2023.
I am beyond thrilled to have the opportunity to work in a supportive team to continue to help children to thrive and be there best, independent selves. I am dedicated to ensuring therapy is client-centred and am always thriving to build positive, reassuring, and healthy relationships with the children, families, and school’s that I work with.
I am lucky enough to work as Therapy Assistant within a fantastic, multi-disciplinary team and spend most of my time executing the physiotherapy programmes created by our wonderful Physio Marnie, and implementing OT sessions that are guided by our fabulous OT, Jules. I am beyond exciting to continually learn and grow in my role as a Therapy Assistant, until I can implement my acquired skills as qualified OT.
I have always been drawn to the sensory processing and behavioural/emotional regulation side of OT and hope to continue to grow my knowledge and skill set in these areas, whilst continually exploring the other wonderful areas of paediatric OT.
When I am not at work, you can find me at the beach, on a hike, or exploring different corners of the world. Immersing myself in different cultures and meeting people from vast backgrounds has always emphasised to me how the environment and supports someone has can impact their overall outcome, and how everyone’s needs are personalised and independent of others.
